Dedicated to preserving and restoring human sight, the Department of Ophthalmology offers high-calibre clinical and surgical education in eye care. The department integrates advanced diagnostic equipment, including slit-lamp microscopy, ophthalmoscopy, and visual field analysis, into student clinical rotations. Guided by distinguished ophthalmic surgeons, students learn to diagnose and manage common visual impairments, corneal pathologies, cataracts, glaucoma, and ocular emergencies. Through clinical exposure in busy outpatient departments and community vision screening camps, the department trains students to deliver comprehensive eye care while emphasizing preventable blindness strategies on a broader societal scale.
